Fidelity Money Transfer Lockdown with an External Bank (no CMA)

I also do manual ACH from Fido to my bank account every month or two. I don't want to have an auto transfer because the monthly need varies so much.

    Do you buy travel insurance?

We travel extensively, including cruises and international. Up to now we have passed on trip insurance, but starting this year we are getting Allianz coverage similar to what you described, mainly for the medical evacuation if needed.

The Economist: Baby-boomers are loaded. Why are they so stingy?

I'm spending more than I ever did before RE, but not as fast as my investments are growing.

    Maintaining our relationship in retirement.

It took the first year or two for DW to get used to me being home all the time. I used to travel a few days a week for work. She would get prickly. It helped when I picked up more chores around the house.

Plan slow travel, some of the time. What else?

I would say that one to two weeks in a location is enough for slow travel. Italy is pretty big and varied. I would consider Dolomites, Cinque Terra, Rome, Florence, Naples, and Sicily.

    Blow that Dough 2024

We recently got home from a 3 week trip to Ireland, where among other things we visited Waterford Crystal and bought a couple things in their store. Now that I'm home, I have run into some second hand Waterford for 20-40% of new and bought several more pieces plus an ammonite fossil that I saw...

You hit an FI number, now what?

In the year or two approaching RE I brought our AA down from 80+ to 60+, and as the market kept rising to 55 now.

Nice ammonite fossil and a 12" Waterford Mastercraft vase - $290 and $360. The vase was on Ebay. I would guess that it was originally something like $800 to $1200 new.
