    Struggling in Wisconsin. Advice?

Yes, I really enjoyed working with him and I do miss it. He owns an HVAC company and I was able to work from home. I learned a lot about HVAC and we always had something to talk about. It was very rewarding to watch him grow his business and to be a part of it.

    Struggling in Wisconsin. Advice?

Even after 11 years I still feel like I am drifting or floating a bit sometimes. I keep a list of things I want to work on or do and refer to my list as needed. Or I just sit down and relax or nap for a bit. But I know the feeling you are talking about. I actually worked 8-10 hours a week...

Do you have more energy in retirement?

I have always had a lot of energy. As I get older I notice that I am physically tired by late afternoon or early evening. I get up early so that is part of it. I can tell if I do too much, my legs and feet ache.

    Treasury Direct Delays

I now wish I had never set up any accounts with them......unacceptable delays in my opinion.

What new series are you watching? *No Spoilers, Please*

I just finished A Gentleman in Moscow on Paramount/Starz. I really enjoyed it. We are also working our way through The Brokenwood Mysteries, set in New Zealand, which is on Acorn TV. I found this first on our public TV channel.

How many times did you move the goal posts?

I did not really have a number. I knew what we could afford to live on and went by that. I left my full time job at age 54 when I got a new boss and could see what the future would hold. I was very lucky to get in 33.75 good years at a very good financial service company.

    Financial Advisors

I don't use an advisor, but I would recommend quarterly for at least a touch base. I personally think all accounts need at least a brief quarterly review.

Bad service: What would you do?

This is our approach too. Especially if we come into a restaurant and are ignored right off the bat or have to wait for too long for drinks or to order. This is usually a bad omen. Coming from a former waitress.

How often do strangers ask you for money?

The last time I was asked for money was more than ten years ago when I was still working downtown and riding the bus. We would get asked for money for food and most of the time someone on the bus would give a small amount of money, including me.

Weddings for children - how much?

I know I am an outlier, my sons were both married 20 years ago. We paid for modest rehearsal dinners and the tux rentals and did $1000 gift as a gift. We have definitely helped along the way (modestly) since then.

    After I'm Gone

I did not think about tax preparation! I have always done our taxes, so for the first time I am wondering if I should get an accountant set up now for this, I will have to think about that. Our taxes are pretty straight forward and I have kept good records. I guess my son would just have to...

How much do you spend per month on fitness?

I forgot that I work out with a personal trainer twice a month at a total cost of $140 monthly. I have been meeting with the same person for 15 years and it looks like her rates are very reasonable.

Good friend just died of Pancreatic Cancer

I have a dear friend that had it discovered while checking something else recently so I am praying for the same good outcome as your roommate. He is doing chemo now and then the surgery.
