Do you have any browser addons (extensions) that may have been updated? They sometimes can cause conflicts...
I am using chrome/windows and so far in testing have not seen issues but anything is possible ;)
Bots = web crawlers like google and bing. We always had those, but I will look into disabling the display and believe it was disabled on the old software.
There is still work to be done on the forum view. You'll see an option to change font size in the next few days, updates to the Ignore forum function and a few more items. We're still messing with 1 and 0s.

The forum should do that automatically. It 'remembers' where you left off reading. First, however - you'll need to "Mark all forums read" link at the top of the page.
When you open a thread you will be taken to the newest post that you have not yet read.
The Yellow forum icon changes color. It dims when all posts are read and lights up when there is new content.
