I bought some brokered CDs this AM at Schwab Charles Schwab Bank 5.25% CD 05/15/2025 15987UCS5 and Bank of America 5% CD 05/22/2026 06051XDT6 I confess that the markets have me a bit spooked (Shiller PE is about 35), so I pulled about 40% of my equities off the table and fled to fixed.

I am not as diligent as car-guy; I just stay under the FDIC limits.

Schwab is showing a 3-year, non-callable CD (semi-annual payer) with a 4.9% APY #61768E3S0 Morgan Stanley Private Bank

A couple of 2-year, non-callable CDs at Schwab: BofA/ 06051XDH2/ semi-annual payer and Wells Fargo/ 949764NL4/ monthly payer.

I am in Tucson, Arizona. If I bend over naked to tend to my roses, there is a 100% likelihood that my rear bumper will spontaneously combust.

Did you pay last year's quarterlies via paper check or via the IRS website (although i am not sure that makes any difference). I paid quarterlies last year via the website and will be paying again this year; have never received a voucher.

I always assumed they want the SSN to they have a way to track you down if you fail to pay.

Qualified Annuity was from a 401k rollover (pre-tax). It is 100% taxable upon liquidation at income tax bracket rates. Some other info: I am 60 years of age. 85% of social security will be taxed, whenever I take it, due to pension and interest income. The annuity won't impact that number. IRMMA...
