    Cataract Surgery Options

Eye protection is a good point. After wearing glasses since my mid-40's I was used to having glasses protect my eyes. After cat. surgery I was enjoying wearing no glasses but have to remind myself to wear safety glasses whenever working on something. Easy to forget to not put on the safety glasses.

    Costco comments and questions

Doesn't Sams allow you to scan with your smart phone and bypass the registers? Costco needs to step up their game. BTW we like their pizza, for $10 for a whole large pizza we add some veggies, ham, bacon, or whatever else we have on hand and enjoy a good pizza.

    Rethinking Inheritance

In our trust there is a provision that any heir who contests the will or trust will automatically be excluded from any inheritance. This was suggested and put in by our estate attorney. Hopefully this will prevent any problems.

How often do strangers ask you for money?

Years ago DW and I flew into Roatan, Honduras for a dive trip. Back then there was no real security other than keeping people and cows off the runway. A group of young kids were swarming our group. DW gave one of them a stick of gum. She quickly became the target as all of them swarmed her...

    Advice on Dry Rot Repair

You can also buy empty tubes like those that caulk comes in. Mix up your preferred potion, add it to the tube (that's the messy part) and squirt it into your repair. Keeps the mess down somewhat depending on the project. Works great if you have to fill a deep void.

    my toxic inheritance

Having 2 siblings who destroyed a family inheritance that was being run as a pseudo business I say they got what they deserved. They just dragged me along with their destructive decisions since I had only vote out of 3. Don't let this happen to you, get out while you can. And don't worry about...

    Blow that Dough 2024

Had my flight yesterday on the B-25 Maid in the Shade. It was an awesome experience, all of the volunteers with the Commemorative Air Force were great to work with. I was able to spend about 8 minutes during the flight in the nose where my dad sat during his bombing missions. It gave me a taste...

In Your City - What Are The Most Desirable Neighborhoods and Why?

Good fun and jest, but yes it is a problem. At our condo our unit is lit up from a store next door beyond the fence. But that's ok since we expect that in a city. And it gives us a measure of security. Now at our mountain cabin there are a few owners up here who leave their outside lights on all...

    Electric Vehicles - Models Discussion

We were diverted off I-10 at the NM Arizona border a few years ago due to a bad wreck because of dust storms. We were the 3rd vehicle sent off on a detour north. I was pulling a trailer so the range in my Tahoe was limited. No problem until the 2 vehicles I was following pulled into their...

    awash in space aliens

As I read about what the Webb is finding about planets in other solar systems and further and the scientists say there could be life out there I keep saying to myself "life as we know it." There is so much we don't know that it is almost impossible to think what is life.

    awash in space aliens

How do we know that dinosaurs didn’t have space travel? I don’t think any items they could have built would still be around after millions of years. We have so little evidence from fossils that we don’t know much at all of their lifestyles. With continental drift, volcanoes, climate changes...

Cheapwad Finds--Opposite of Blow That Dough!

An old smartphone also makes a small but good e-reader. Also can use it for other purposes, I use it as a small display for Torque to display engine info.

    awash in space aliens

Most of the conjecture of alien lifeforms are that they are based on carbon like we are. But what if they aren't? Silicon? Not needing oxygen? Any other types using different minerals? Not seeing like we do but in different wavelengths based on the type of sun, infrared? ultraviolet? This could...
