Anybody Using an Alternative ID Email Address?

Similar to what I've done for years but use an old yahoo email account rather than providing my primary gmail.

    oil and gas

I own a couple of stocks in the sector but usually stay away from MLPs due to having to deal with K-1s. OKE has been a great investment for me (pays 5-6% div). I bought quite a bit during the plunge in 2020 when it went below $20 (now back to the $75 to $80 range).

GEHA unable to provide status of claim

I was able to access GEHA EOBs this morning with no issues other than taking a bit longer to load the EOB selected.

With my CU, typically receive SS deposits a couple of days early (usually Monday or the Friday before).

    Monthly Grocery Expenditure

No real budget/tracking but guessing $400-$500 per month (for one person) plus maybe $250 a month dining out.

Had never really paid much attention to these generation breakdowns but looks like I'm a Boomer......

    New Rules for Realtors

I'm not sure if anything really changes -- the commission has always been negotiable. My last home sale was at 4.5%. I would guess most sellers don't even attempt to negotiate with listing agents. I have sold by owner a couple of times and prefer to go that route if in an area with a decent...

Month long trip bring the laptop or not?

I would take the laptop. If gone for more than a couple of days, my MacBook Air goes along. I do not use a cell phone for anything financial and really dislike doing much else (internet-related) via cell with such a tiny screen. I suppose I'm in the minority using my cell primarily for...

    Medicare Poll

Traditional medicare with FEHB plan ($152/mo) which covers what medicare does not, even all deductibles/copays. Struggled whether to even sign up for medicare b as the medicare premiums are likely a bit more on average than my cost would be with just the FEHB plan. It will be more of a stretch...

Poll: How Often Have You Had A Flat Tire?

Last one was at least 30 years ago but my 2023 Tacoma has a full size spare (just in case).

    Medicare/Social Security Question

Yes, you can apply for SS and medicare at the same time. I started both when I turned 65 (June) a couple of years ago. I applied online in March, received a call from SS in April to verify info, first payment was in July. No issues at all.

Ford Pass XL model Cell Phone Question

I found out the hard way that my 2023 Tacoma would lock the doors with my key inside. It came from the dealer set to auto lock after a few minutes once you removed the key from the ignition/exited the vehicle. It wouldn't auto lock with the key in the ignition but I inadvertently left the key...

    Anyone with multiple Melanomas?

Have had a couple of melanomas on my chest (stage 0) and also 3 or 4 squamous/basal cell on back/chest removed in the last 2-3 years. As others, I grew up in the sun without sunscreen. My first dermatologist visit was at age 65 (will soon be 68). I see the derm doc every six months now.

do you weigh your high school weight?

Fairly close, high school 6' 170 and now 6'2" 175. Have always been active -- still run/exercise regularly. For a couple of years in my 40s, I did creep up to 185 or so but have never really had an issue with weight (except when I wanted to gain weight but had little success).
