Who FIREd the Earliest with the Lowest FIRE Score and Why You Did?

I hear you on trying to replace your final salary. It's very hard to find a job in software, tech, web, design, etc. even at entry level pay for someone over 50 when you are competing with workers from around the world willing to work for a lot less. AI is only going to make it harder in my opinion.

are home generators going to be unavoidable in the future?

Curious because a few houses I've looked at have propane tanks. How does propane refill work in abnormal usage situations? Do you have to alert them if you have unusually high usage and need a refill sooner than normal?

Recommend me a quality home printer.

My laser goes into a very low power sleep standby mode. I don't use it much and it doesn't bother me waiting on it to wake up. When I had inkjet I wasted ink because of infrequent use. It took time each time I used it for the head to clean itself.

Who FIREd the Earliest with the Lowest FIRE Score and Why You Did?

I have to be honest that I wasn't even thinking of people in their 30s and 40s. I guess they are unicorns in my mind.

Interested to hear about how some are "pulling it off" and why they chose to go that route. And does the current inflation cause you to lose sleep at night?

You hit an FI number, now what?

It is 114 for all expenses (discretionary and essential) input into the model. My discretionary budget is about half of the total of my essential expenses, 55%. I feel like I was being generous with discretionary expenses. Leaving some fat to trim off if needed. Would people in this forum be...

Fidelity's Fidelity planner is giving me a 114 score until age 94 for essential expenses plus 55%. So ideally I want double my essential expenses?
