What is the last thing you ordered from Amazon?

Crucial X9 Pro 2TB Portable SSD They're making these external drives smaller and smaller. 2 TB (can get up to 4 TB) crammed into a tiny device thinner and slightly wider than a Zippo lighter (showing my age).

    Credit, Debit, or Cash

I am virtually cashless. I use credit cards for everything. Even small purchases. I can't think of the last time I actually handled cash. The debit cards the banks send me are tucked away in the drawer. I don't use them. These are some of the reasons I use credit cards only, some of which...

    Medicare advantage plan

I'm 75 and have been on the same "no premium" Humana Plan since I've been on Medicare. I know a lot of people hate advantage plans but it has saved me countless thousands of dollars in supplement plan premiums, drug plan premiums and co-pays/deductibles over the years. Almost every...

Help. I deserve credit card rewards!

Fidelity Rewards Visa is my go to card as well which I'm getting 2.25% cashback. Over 90% of all my purchases and bills are paid on that card. I also use Amazon Chase for Amazon purchases only (5%) and PenFed Platinum Rewards Visa for gas only (5%). I was using my AMEX for 5% on my cell phone...

Cash held in MMs like SPAXX - where next ?

My checking account at Fidelity is currently earning 5.3% (FDRXX current 7 day yield). Nice return, but that's my checking account. I always like to keep my emergency funds and cash for things I'm saving for on short term basis at anywhere that will return the highest yield possible no matter...

Best CD, MM Rates & Bank Special Deals Thread 2023 - Please post updates here

ACH transfers seem to be almost as fast as wire transfers lately (at least at Fidelity). I did a couple of outbound transfers around 8-8:30 in the morning and the receiving bank had it complete and available by noon.

Sounds like a good predictable rate over the long haul, but where is this at? Sounds like a MYGA from an insurance company and not a CD from a bank. Unlike a CD, you can defer taxes on a MYGA until you withdraw the funds and many MYGA's allow you to withdraw a certain amount every year without...

Do you Autopay your Monthly Bills?

Fidelity Signature Visa. One of my accounts at Fidelity is managed which comes with some enhanced benefits. Their card is normally 2% cashback. One of the benefits is they give you extra cashback on their Visa card up to 3% depending on the amount managed.

Do you Autopay your Monthly Bills?

I've been using auto-pay ever since it was a thing. Never really had any problems with it. I have all bills charged to my CC from anyone that will accept CC payments without a convenience fee to avail the 2.25% cashback on the card. The CC payment itself is on auto-pay. I don't use any billpay...

Do you Autopay your Monthly Bills?

How about a checking account that is interest bearing. There are lots around but most have certain requirements to earn interest on your balance. For me, I use my broker (Fidelity) for almost everything, including my checking account. Virtually all my bills are paid out of there and all are on...

I loved taking advantage of these higher rates while we had them, but with rates coming down, might be time to think about the stock market again.
