Best approach in general to a hot upstairs?

Hot Air rises, cool falls. We have a 2 story home with a basement. When the air conditioner is on, all upstairs doors are closed and cooling ducts are open to the max in the occupied rooms. Downstairs ducts are choked down. Imagine the AC treated air is like water; so you want to "fill" the...

    Anyone ever try Farmer Carries?

I haven't done those but I did carry DW(115#) and a backpack from the Napali Coast State Park back to the trailhead after she tore her hamstring back in 2009. I can't remember how many miles, but my right knee reminds me at least once a week. I also carried about 45# of tools, instruments...

You hit an FI number, now what?

We didn't have a net worth or portfolio number goal to hit. We looked at monthly income replacement number. We were happy with our spending/outflow, and just wanted to maintain that level plus inflation. We had 2 pension incomes, rental income, and portfolio income that we could turn on or off...

    What We're Making

Yes, the concrete and stone were sealed with a wet look masonry sealer, I think it was from Behr. My next job that I'm trying to pull off is a BBQ rollaway. I purchased a black rollaway toolbox from Harbor Freight. I'm going to paint the front with a stainless steel appliance paint. I will...

    What We're Making

Just finished up with outdoor kitchen. Poured concrete top, with powdered pigment added to simulate marble. Grill converted to natty gas. Stone tiles were from Lowe's. Some mistakes were made along the way, but was an interesting build. Will be making "crack burgers" tonight, new recipe tryout.

I have a see through blank strip about 1" wide above my tool bar that I'm not sure of its purpose.

    Help me see the Sequoias

Instead of flying into SFO, I highly recommend flying into SAC. I have spent too much precious time i lines at airlines, baggage and rental car counters in SFO. In SAC, we have been on the road, 35 minutes after deplaning at the gate. Also, in SFO, you are on the southern part of SF, and you...

    Blow that Dough 2024

DW and I really enjoy "dining experiences" and enjoy them 3-4 times a year. It is definitely great to enjoy quality foods cooked to perfection. It also gives me ideas, for when I cook. As far as hamburgers, I eat them here at the house with our own beef, purchased annually from a farmer friend...
