I posted about this Russian group back in November and included one of their YouTube clips. Just wanted to follow up that they are currently in the middle of their first US tour. They played one night in NYC and are finishing 3 sold out nights in LA. There will be 3 shows in Chicago this week and then one each in Dallas and Clearwater.

Robert Lamm (original Chicago keyboards, still with the group), Danny Seraphine (original drums), and the daughter of the late Terry Kath have all acknowledged the quality of the band by paying visits to them in LA.

Thanks for the update.

After your first post, got one of their albums off iTunes. Faithful re-creation of the best songs of Chicago. The videos of their recording sessions are worth watching as well.

Nice! Even the vocals aren't that far off. Hard to replicate Kath's singing especially, but the guy does pretty well.

They just released their second album. And in true Chicago album-naming tradition, they're calling it Chicagovich II !

Great band, but after watching the video I went online and bought a "police line" guitar strap

Cool! :) I like their young guitarist. He’s very talented!

Before they left LA today, Michelle Kath (Terry Kath's daughter) paid another visit and showed that young guitarist her father's actual guitar. It brought him to tears!

Did anyone end up seeing them last year?

They are on tour again in the US this summer. They will be at the Birchmere in suburban DC in June.

Gindie, thanks for the heads up.

Just discovered these guys yesterday. Great covers of Chicago,Steely Dan, Earth Wind and Fire. They are Russian and English is their second language. What makes them unique is they seem to stress to duplicate note for note, beat for beat, voice for voice..Little if any improvisation. Definitely rabbit hole worthy. Vehicle by Ides of March.

We saw them in Alexandria in I think 2021 and then at House of Blues in Dallas last fall. They are the real deal. We were just looking at their fall tour. Nowhere near us in DC but a lot in Midwest, Texas and even out to Hawaii.

They have voices that are worthy stand-ins for Pete Cetera, Lamm and even Kath. And the beautiful Ksenia is not to be missed.

Highly recommend.

Really liked them the first time I heard them on YouTube. The drummer is really good, the videography is really good and Ksenia is so charming and talented.

Grabbed their Chicago covers when this thread first appeared. Have to go back and listen again.

They are very good!

One observation I have made over the years is that some Eastern Europeans and Russians can develop accents that don't readily sound foreign to Americans. This probably had a role in their intelligence successes during the Cold War.

Their tour comes within 4 hour hours of us... now to convince the wife to make a trip for this.

Love Leonid & Friends. Have seen them 5 times, most recently a few weeks ago on a cruise in the Carribean out of Miami.
