    Another Vanguard Rant

That's a good story. Before trying to use a DPOA for DM I didn't understand the potential resistance. I took the form and DM to a bank that refused to recognize it. We closed the account. Edward Jones faxed a copy to their legal department and gave me access to her account. Her credit union said...

    Another Vanguard Rant

It seems inexplicable that they would recognize you as POA for other matters and object now. FWIW if they want you to sign a limited agent authorization form it is pretty straightforward if she can make some sort of signature.

    Electric Vehicles - Models Discussion

I like the periodic updates from Tesla. It is easier to adjust the wiper speed with the scroll wheel. Adaptive headlights sound good but I haven't driven enough at night to appreciate a difference. IDK how software update makes the cabin cool faster but it seems like a good thing.

    early notice of retirement

I think that's a good summary. Even if you don't anticipate being asked or told to leave sooner it is better to be prepared.

High Net Worth - Is Your Asset Allocation Acceptable?

It's hard for me to see what's wrong with this. We are retired at 86:14. I think the conventional recommendations apply to folks with higher withdrawals.

No Will When Last Parent Passes Away

In Michigan there is no "filing" of the affidavit. You just show it to the person or entity holding the property to get it released.

    early notice of retirement

How much notice to give depends on the circumstances but I think it is wise to be ready to go right away when you first raise the subject. Although not irreplaceable I gave 12 months notice since I knew it could take a long time and there was seasonality involved. On the other hand, if the...

SurfFL, I guess if it amuses you, go for it. A new model Y is obviously going to cost you more than a used economy car. Are you accounting for energy loss inherent in the wall charger? At your current kWh/100 miles I think your tires will last longer than projected :)

Do Teslas have adaptive level 2 charging? I got a message when I plugged my cell phone in one night last week that it will charge at the rate needed to be full by 7 am. I don't even have an alarm set! Anyway it occurs to me that I usually charge my car at 6 to 11.5 kW when the rates drop in...

    Electric Vehicles - Models Discussion

I made my first overnight trip in the Model Y, 450+ miles from Michigan to rural Kentucky. I charged 3 times on the way because I was concerned about the charger situation at my destination. It turned out that the CCS adapter that Tesla included worked fine at the Charge Point level 2 charger...

What Not to Prescribe to Older Adults

The tailoring is important. If a patient becomes aware that one of their drugs is on the list it may be worth having a conversation about the actual benefit. Patients have told me that they had been on NSAIDs for arthritis for years and their doctor wants them to continue although it wasn't...

    Vision problems after cataract surgery

What a miserable outcome. I am less than thrilled with my post cataract vision but I really needed it at least in one eye. My minor issues were at least correctable.
